They landed in England, in Woking in the late summer of 1870.
At first there were a few sightings of strange creatures creeping about the outskirts of town. But after a short time their tactics moved from scouting to wholesale destruction.
It is believed they built their machines on Earth, terrible machines that tore through Surrey and Wiltshire, they levelled much of Middlesex and threatened to enslave the country.
The invasion proceeded and a plague of strange Red Weed began to cover the land, until it spread from Bristol to the Cotswolds and all the way to Bournemouth within the year. England’s people and it’s foremost holiday destinations were under threat of annihilation. Disraeli died a hero in Essex, firing a Maxim gun to cover a shipload of escaping refugees.
Then in early 1873 the kidnappings ceased and the machines were rarely seen. By 1874 the Red Weed had died back somewhat and plagues of wildlife emerged. First rats infested the ruined cities, then armies of cats gathered to go after them as well as vast flocks of birds picking at re-emerging green shoots.
